So if it wasn't one thing it was another. The clutch was put on wrong. The whole thing had to be taken apart and the clutch cable adjusted. Fun. Then there was a coolant leak. Turns out it was one of the plugs, but the best part was its location, it was in the back of the motor and the transmission had to be taken out to get to it, or you could partially take out the motor. More fun.
Afterwards I changed the oil, no problems. Then changed the spark plugs, ran into some trouble there.
Now the brakes needed to be changed. That was an ordeal. First the lug nuts were on so tight I needed an air gun to take them off. Two were missing, one from the front and one from the back tires. Then you need a T50 torx bit to take off the brake caliper, didn't have one handy. Once I got one I came to find the bolt was seized in there. Had to use a propane torch to heat up the seized bolts (three on each side) and finally after so much time spent, I got to the brakes, of which there was nothing left, no pads whatsoever. I should have taken pictures...
Now there is a slight squeal coming from the engine. The serpentine belt looks brand new, so it must be one of the pulleys that it is on. I have to release the tensioner and spin the pulleys individually to find out which one needs to be replaced. I've been keeping it quiet by putting baby powder on the belt, every now and then, when it starts squealing too loudly
Got the fender fixed and painted and had a coupon that was about to expire for window tint so I got the windows tinted. Here's what it looks like now.
I also got the center cap that was missing on the front driver's side. Looks pretty nice but could look nicer. I found a vinyl decal for the middle brake light and decieded to put it on. Turned out looking pretty good.
It says mustang every time I step on the brake. Not to mention I also got a sequential light turn signal. Kind of hard to get onto a picture. But I found one (not of my car) to illustrate what I mean.
Every my turn signal comes on it's like that, same with every time I step on the brakes. |
Well, it's a work in progress. I'll post updates as I go.
