Sir Christopher Lee Passes
Sir Lee wasn't just an actor, he released not one but two metal albums, was, of course you know by this point, knighted. Although he was most remembered for his landmark roles as Count Dracula and Dooku and Saruman in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit. Another villain role he played was in the James Bond series, Francisco Scaramanga, in the movie The Man with the Golden Gun. He was a real Renaissance man.
Crystal Pepsi
Coke brought back Surge last year, to be sold exclusively online at Amazon, and now Pepsi is bringing back Crystal Pepsi. The '90s are making a comeback! With Jurassic World coming out tonight, the X-Files coming back for a stint and the Powerpuff Girls reboot announced there is an undeniable taste for what I used to think was the long lost '90s era.
Speaking of the nineties and the three super powered girls...
Cartoon Network Powerpuff Girls Reboot
I say that Cartoon Network's Powerpuff Girls because the show's creator, Craig McCraigen, won't even be involved in the new series. And we have recently learned the original voices for the girls were replaced with younger actresses. Catherine Cavadini (Blossom), Tara Strong (Bubbles) and Elizabeth Daily (Buttercup) were not even approached to reprise their roles. The drawing above is of the girls in the new show. So it's somewhat close to the original, so at least there's that. But as for the show itself, we'll have to wait and see and hope it's at least decent enough like the originals, which can be viewed on Netflix!
And that is a bit of what was in the news today. Nostalgia.
