My Keto Diet Progress
As of September 30th I am
starting a diet that will allow me to go into Ketosis. What is that you
might ask? Well, in the most simple of terms, your body uses fat for
energy instead of carbohydrates. For a more in depth article click here.
Logically, when your body is in this state your body fat percentage
will decrease dramatically. In order to get your body into this state
you must deprive it of what it currently uses for energy, carbohydrates.
The
thinking behind this type of diet is simple, eat lots of fat, medium
protein and minimal carbs. On average, it takes about two to three days
to achieve Ketosis if done right. Now of course there are side effects
such as fatigue, dizziness, sudden weakness and headaches when your body
is adjusting. Each person is effected differently and while some may
suffer from each one of these, there could be some that suffer little to
none of them.
My
goal is simply to burn fat fast so exercise is a must. I will do cardio
workouts every other day, alternating between running, cycling and
plyometrics, and in between will be short sprint interval workouts and
yoga. According to my calculations I should reach my target weight in
about two months, if not sooner.
Now
for the dirty details. I am a male in my mid-twenties weighing 205 lbs.
My body fat percentage is estimated (certainly not exact) to be around
32%, give or take one or two percentage points in either direction. I
will give details of my exact diet, workouts and progress as I go. I
will make easy to follow steps for anyone who would like to mimic my
results. Click on the link below to follow my journey and see my
results.
